These red, friendly, bouncing guys can be annoying, but they can be helpful, too! They push you around and you can stand on top of them. One shot stuns it permanently.

Bridge Other
Some switches control the existence of bridges, to enable Keen to get from one place to another. Bridges can also be deactivated when an enemy is standing on one, with interesting results.

Council Member Person
Gnosticenes. These old guys are the ones you're supposed to save in Keen 4. The Shikadi kidnapped them and put them in the Shadowlands. They are the guardians of the oracle, and the only ones that can activate it. They are also immortal.
Hidden in and around the Shadowlands are dartguns that you don't want to mess with particularly since they can't be destroyed!

Dopefish Creature
The second dumbest creature in the universe, this creature's thought patterns go "swim, swim, hungry, swim, swim, hungry." They'll eat anything alive and moving near them, though they prefer heroes. In the GBC version they jump out of water and you are able to kill them unlike the Keen 4 version. This is one of the most famous enemies of Keen and has appeared in numerous other games. Scattered throughout levels in Keen 4. Gaining 100 of these things will get you a new life.
Grab an icon of Commander Keen or other items to receive and extra life. In each different episode, a certain amount of points will also get you a new life. The amounts is usually 20,000 points.
If you happen to burn up in this fire, you'll be trying the level again.

Foot Other
A legendary giant stone foot that materializes from the union of twelve inchworms, and carries Keen to the bonus level (Pyramid of the Forbidden) in the Shadowlands.
Gems are used to open doors found in various levels in Keens 4-6. To open a door, just carry the gem to an appropriate gem holder in the vicinity of the door. Keen knows all about the gems and will put them in the holder.
The planet in Keen 4 that Keen travels to to visit the Gnosticenes and the Oracle.

When have your back turned, they will sneak up and jump at you! One shot while it jumps will stun it permanently.

Mirage Blocks Hazard
These stationary platforms keep vanishing and reappearing like magic. Keen can only stand on them when they are visible (if he is not looking upwards).
Commander Keen's weapon of choice in Keen 4-6. The gun fires a green blast of energy, stunning anything that happens to get in the way. You have a limited amount of shots so be sure to collect them if you happen to find one in a level. They are worth 5 ammo.
Platforms are a major convenience- even a necessity on Fribbulus Xax. In most places they are used to transport you over dangerous obstacles, or to places out of reach. Many of the platforms(or "plats" as the locals call them) are still the old style which are operated by Bips. Other types of platforms occur on other planets as well.
Commander Keen uses his pogo stick to reach otherwise inaccessible places. In Keen GBC, you use the pogo to knock out your enemies after you have stunned them with the Neural Ray Blaster.
The most common inhabitant of the Shadowlands, Poison Slugs mean trouble twice--once if you touch them, twice if you should land in the puddles of poison they leave behind! In Keen GBC, instead of the puddles of slime, the slug charges at you! One shot stuns it permanently.

Poles Other
Climb up or down poles to reach certain areas in your quest. Keep an eye out for darkened poles in Keen 5!
Virtually immune to your shots, these guys really are pests. There must be some way to get them though. To squash them, pogo on them when they are sitting.

Sleeping Slug Creature
A slug that can be seen sleeping underground. They don't harm you, they're basically just for looks.
Switches in Keen 1 and 3 only control lights and bridges; switches in Keen 4-6 only activate/deactivate platforms and bridges. Switches in K6 can be jumped or pogoed off, just as they are flicked downwards.
A secret creature living in the Pyramid of the Gnosticene Ancients. These creatures have the capability of transporting themselves from place to place, so you have to be quick if you want to stun one. One other thing that they do is steal items around a level, hence their name. They have been called Gnosticene Ancients in the past, but a quick e-mail to Tom Hall fixed that.
